LNER vs Avanti - which is better for new drivers?

🏢 Company-Specific

I've been offered positions with both LNER and Avanti and I'm trying to decide which to go for. I know they're both excellent companies but I'm wondering about:

  • Training quality
  • Routes you work (would prefer variety)
  • Base options
  • Overall culture

Anyone have experience with either?

@tube.driver - both have opportunities. You can move into management, training, or specialist roles. Depends what you're interested in.

I went LNER and haven't looked back. Team is great, routes are interesting, and the depot banter keeps things fun 😄

Avanti has some cracking routes too - the West Coast is proper busy and varied. Never a dull day!

Thanks everyone for the input. I think I'm leaning towards LNER - York is a good location for me.

If you change your mind, Avanti are always recruiting! 😅
